Up until now many of the courses in 'Hot Stone Massage' have been both time consuming and outrageously expensive, with some courses costing thousands of dollars and running for several weeks - hardly suitable for the busy beauty or massage therapist or new graduate that is just starting out and has limited funds. As experienced therapists and instructors in a wide range of modalities, we well understand the needs of today's busy and aspiring therapists and have therefore put together a well structured, 'two-stage' certificate course in Pohaku Hawaiian Stone Therapy that is both 'inexpensive' and 'time effective'.  Course Venue - Gold Coast Hinterland 'Pohaku' simply means 'stone' in Hawaiian and we have used this word to describe our Hot Stone Massage training for 2 main reasons: The first, is that we are working with special stones directly from the Hawaiian Islands, which the Hawaiians believe are 'keepers of the spirit'.

The second reason we have used the Hawaiian word 'Pohaku' is that the complete Hot Stone Massage 'system' that we have developed, has a uniquely Hawaiian flavour, as the techniques and overall 'philosophy' have been inspired by the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage that we have practiced for the last 10 years. Stage I covers the 'Application of Hot Stones In Massage'. The section of the course will include the history of hot stone massage, benefits to the therapist and clients, contraindications, types of stones suitable (what the alternatives are) and what you will need to get started in terms of tools and equipment. It will also cover safety and the do's and don'ts of application as well as a supervised application session.   
Stage I is very much 'content-focused'. It will equip you with the necessary (and too often neglected) Hot Stone Massage 'fundamentals' that are absolutely essential to performing this treatment both safely and effectively. We assure you that there is much more to this powerful healing modality than you may think! Stage II - The 'Pohaku Hawaiian Stone Therapy System' focuses primarily on developing your practical experience in using hot/warm stones in massage (giving and receiving), by teaching you a full body massage system including specific layouts and hawaiian massaging techniques that are absolutely divine! By the end of both stages you will have the necessary understanding and skills to be able to give an amazing full body, 90 minute Pohaku Hawaiian Stone Therapy treatment that your clients will simply rave about! We know this because we continually get wonderful feedback from past course participants, not to mention our own clients!
